world of make-believe

ahh! what is this creature emerging from the rocket ship in Abby's bedroom?!!
is it an alien?
...or maybe just a silly 2 year old whose imagination is starting to skyrocket.

Lately pretend games have taken over abby's world. It started with "restaurant" in abby's kitchen nook, using her learning tower as a window for ordering and paying for food (watch out, an ice cream will run you 20 bucks!), then it was a chicken coop with brightly colored plastic easter eggs being mass produced, next a garden where she weeds, waters, and hands out veggies (mostly eggplant) and finally (thanks to Grandma Rose's gift of many stickers, including an outerspace page) Aliens have been introduced to her rocket. There are alien stickers all over, and today we tried out being one ourselves.

This stage is so much fun to me... albeit a bit exhausting as the games are most fun with another person involved. Luckily, the kids next store are happy to play the pretend games they like too (mostly restaurant and doctor). Matthew and I look forward to the day also, that Bebo will be able to at least be a pawn in Abby's games and provide that playmate she so craves. For now, we are trying to enjoy the phase and our role in it.

  1. It truly is a fun, exhausting, wonderful phase! And playmates are a very good thing. Hope you're doing well and able to keep up! :)

  2. Love the alien look! So glad you are having fun in the land of make believe....Micah and Nathan were playing Veterinarian the other day and they were operating on Annika who was an injured baby hawk...she laid there just staring at them as they used their plastic screwdrivers and saws to make her feel all better. :) So even at a young age, Bebo will be able to play along!
