Halloween is not a single day in the life of a toddler, but a 5th season of the year. Our Halloween began weeks ago with the seasonal book display at the library. Abby has checked out nearly every kids book on the holiday.
Then there was a pumpkin carving/pumpkin roll eating night which was great fun.
Trick or treat street came next at the children's museum where abby got to trick or treat for fabulous treats (nightlights, granola bars, juice boxes, stickers, etc.) and hear a story read by her FAVORITE book character, Froggy.
Green slime as noted in one of her halloween books.
and a groovy girl mummy

Trick or treating itself was no let down either and Abby was simply beside herself walking up to houses and getting candy for just saying trick or treat. She got her fair share of "tricks" too as some of the houses were a little spookier than she bargined for, but Daddy was right there to pick her up and tell her it was all pretend. Neighborhood meanies!
But the candy!!! Abby thinks she's the luckiest kid alive getting to eat 2 pieces on Halloween and 1 piece after dinner every day since. It's so cute. The whole experience of actually trick or treating nearly made me cry many times. I love this age of newness and joy.
heres a little trick from Matthias and an otherwise boring baby video :)
That video is priceless. I'm not sure if I enjoyed Matthias' or Matthew's expression more. Little M. is ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteCan you help me to understand the big deal with these Froggy books? We got one at a yard sale, something about Froggy doing sports, and it has a sound effect button, and the inane text and the horrible button annoy us so much we hid the book from M. Are there better Froggy books out there?
Mmm, your pumpkin roll is delish! What a cute girl, and a fun "season" you had!
ReplyDeleteThat video made me laugh! What fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute kiddos and such a funny video! :) I just cannot believe how BIG Abby is getting. On the video, is that a Pottery Barn anywhere chair that Matthew is leaning against? That's what we got Ashleigh for Christmas and can't wait to give it to her! :) Miss you all!
