I'm posting on this month before it's done! That's progress isn't it? :)
So. Rochester. It's April 21 today and it's still absolutely frigid outside. This winter has been so very long, but we are making the best of our (fingers-crossed) last days of being stuck inside.
Baking and baking
These are actually cotton balls covered with a flour mixture. They were supposed to be fun for hammering and playing. They were so so for hammering and then they got moldy. At least they were fun to make?
Rachel had a baby shower and Bethany, Lori and Lori's mom, Betty and I were all able to go! We loved visiting Vermont and seeing Rachel's home, church and town. Vermont was beautiful with all it's small towns, farms and undeveloped land. The whole weekend was soo refreshing.
It's fun to have all your attention to give to a neice!
After I got back we watched Maddie one more week and then she was done. It feels like perfect timing and we have been doing lots of exciting things like museum trips, walks in the nearby woods, visiting the conservatory, etc.
We had a week of nice weather too! It's a lot of fun to have a backyard we are discovering. We made a kid stove from materials in our own backyard junk pile that was left to us.
P.s. Can you believe people are starting to ask me on a regular basis if they are twins?! Tai tai is a growing champ i suppose :)
And we have the bunny. Good story: Matthew was bringing her in one day when she bucked against him and eventually he had to drop her to not get clawed to death. She hit the ground running and started sprinting toward the back trees. Kirby happened to be outside and went into super dog mode. He sprinted faster, cut her off and herded her back to us. When she started toward the front fence, Kirby dove on her neck, gently but firmly stopping her dead in her tracks until matthew could pick her up again. This happened 3 times or so and we got her back in her cage eventually. Who knew Kirby had such herding skills?!! Not us! Habanese generally don't herd, but we read that they pick up on things quickly. It was pretty awesome. Thanks for the entertainment animals!

:) Maybe Kirby learned a few things on the farm from Luke and Gracie before moving to the city to live with you. It was great having a girls weekend with you! Hope to get some more time with you in Vermont this summer!
